Melbourne PCG Supports Business Opportunities through Cooperatives

23 September 2022 - The Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne, in collaboration with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) of the Philippines hosted the Melbourne segment of a Roadshow for the Filipino Community entitled “Business Opportunities Through Cooperatives and CDA Global including the Promotion of Cooperatives Success Stories” at the Philippine Consulate General premises.

Over thirty (30) high-profile members of the Filipino Community, including prominent members of the business community attended the event, which was envisioned to promote business and marketing opportunities in cooperatives with Filipino communities and partners in Australia, as well as introduce CoopBIZ.ph, the online portal of CDA for communities and businesses to order products directly from registered cooperatives in the Philippines.

The Roadshow presentation was spearheaded by Undersecretary Joseph B Encabo, Chairman of the Cooperative Development Authority, and Mr. Perfecto Jose T. Sisi, Project Head, CDA Global. The CoopBIZ.ph portal is envisioned to allow for the linking of Philippine duly registered cooperative producers to individual consumers, vendors, merchants and consolidators to introduce affordable and high-quality Philippine cooperative products to the global market chain, a component of the cooperative-based supply and value chain initiatives of the CDA.

The Cooperative Development Authority is a government agency which registers and regulates all types of cooperatives in the Philippines. It seeks to promote sustained growth and full development of Filipino cooperatives as broad - based instruments of social justice, equity and balanced national progress.
