In this online event, the participants experienced the Wagayway Festival by virtual tour and joined the live session in the comfort and safety of their homes.
The participants built a paper diorama of the Aguinaldo Shrine, site where the Philippine national flag was unfurled to proclaim the country’s independence from Spanish colonial rule, as part of their online activity.
The Wagayway Festival of Cavite seeks to remind Filipinos that the core of the Independence Day celebration is love and respect for the Philippine flag, the symbol of freedom and love for country.
One participant said “I can’t help but admire the bravery of the revolutionaries, and this makes me very proud to be a Filipino.”
